It took two members of the Manchester City old guard to ensure Pep Guardiola’s team came from behind to win tonight against Hoffenheim in what proved to be a difficult game for a below par City.
The visitors were stunned when Algerian attacker Ishak Belfodil scored in the opening minute after some lax defending by City, but Sergio Aguero’s 7th minute strike tied things up quickly.
Plenty of frustration followed for Guardiola’s men, especially after Julian Nagelsmann pushed his Hoffenheim team further back in the second half, before David Silva dispossessed a Hoffenheim defender in the 87th minute and scored a huge winner for City.
The three points means City are back on track in the Champions League after their home defeat to Lyon in the first matchweek.
