Manchester City bounced back from a Champions League defeat to Lyon by sweeping aside Cardiff in the Premier League last weekend, and after following that up with a midweek Carabao Cup victory over Oxford United will be looking to continue the momentum they are building.
Today’s visitors to the Etihad Stadium are Brighton, who have troubled big name opposition already this season, beating Manchester United and narrowly losing to Liverpool at Anfield. Chris Hughton’s men are known for their tenacity and fighting spirit, something City will have to be wary of today, particularly with one eye on the Hoffenheim game coming up.
Lee Mason is today’s referee and here are the starting lineups selected by Pep Guardiola and his counterpart Chris Hughton:
Manchester City XI: Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Laporte, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Sterling, Sané, Aguero
Brighton XI: Ryan, Montoya, Duffy, Dunk, Bong, Knockaert, Propper, Kayal, March, Bissouma, Locadia
