17-year-old wonderkid a surprise inclusion in Man City squad to face Oxford

Manchester City have included 17-year-old Spanish wonderkid Adrián Bernabé in their travelling party to face Oxford United in tonight’s Carabao Cup third round game.

Bernabé arrived from Barcelona in the summer and showed flashes of his potential during a cameo on the pre-season tour of America, assisting a Bernardo Silva goal against Bayern Munich.

He is one of numerous youngsters included in the squad, with Phil Foden, Brahim Diaz, Aro Muric and Daniel Grimshaw also on the train south.

Experienced names such as Ederson, Vincent Kompany, John Stones, Aymeric Laporte, Nicolas Otamendi, Kyle Walker, Ilkay Gundogan, David Silva, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sané and Riyad Mahrez were also pictured on the platform, as well as the returning Danilo, who could get his first minutes of the season tonight after recovering from an injury.

Sergio Aguero, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva and Fabian Delph were among those not pictured in press shots.
