Manchester City have been boosted by news that star striker Sergio Aguero completed a full training session this afternoon at the City Football Academy.
Aguero left the pitch early in the second half against Fulham after taking a knock to his ankle, and while it wasn’t thought to be serious, there were doubts as to whether he’d be ready to face Lyon.
The signs are good that City’s iconic Argentine will be available for selection tomorrow, though whether he will start or Gabriel Jesus will lead to the line against the French opponents remains to be seen.
Benjamin Mendy did not train today and is a major doubt to face Lyon tomorrow at the Etihad Stadium. Mendy is struggling with a knee problem and like Aguero’s, it isn’t thought to be serious, but tomorrow may come too soon for the charismatic Frenchman.
Fabian Delph has been training after his own injury concern and it will likely be he or Oleksandr Zinchenko who starts at left-back tomorrow night.
Brazilian full-back Danilo, who was injured during the World Cup, is also back in training but not yet ready for a return.
