Pep Guardiola could be without BOTH of his main left-backs when Manchester City kick off their Champions League campaign against Lyon on Wednesday.
According to reliable French outlet RMC Sport, Benjamin Mendy’s absence against Fulham was because of a knee issue sustained in training, and while not serious, it makes him a doubt for Lyon.
And Fabian Delph, who had to come off in the 67th minute against Fulham, also took a knock to his knee and it is claimed that the 28-year-old could miss one or two weeks of action.
That leaves City with a dilemma, although with Oleksandr Zinchenko in the Champions League squad and either Kyle Walker or Aymeric Laporte capable of playing left-back, Guardiola will have options should both his first or second-choice left-backs be unavailable when Lyon comes to the Etihad Stadium.
