Fabian Delph trains ahead of Lyon clash amid reports from France of injury

Fabian Delph was named as a near certainty to miss Manchester City’s Champions League game with Lyon earlier today by French outlet RMC Sport – but perhaps they were just giving Lyon fans some hope.

Delph, who it was said could miss one to two weeks after picking up a knock in the 3-0 win over Fulham, has been pictured in full training today with his teammates ahead of the Lyon game.

Should he be passed fit, Delph will likely start at left-back, although Oleksandr Zinchenko, who also trained today, is another option and either Aymeric Laporte or Kyle Walker could also fill in.

In the gallery posted by City, there is no sign of Benjamin Mendy – who Guardiola revealed has a minor knee injury – or Sergio Aguero, who is also a doubt for Lyon with a problem that isn’t too serious.

Vincent Kompany, who Guardiola left out for normal and not injury-related reasons at the weekend, was also involved in training.
