Manchester City are increasingly hopeful that injured superstar Kevin De Bruyne will be back in time for November’s big game against Manchester United, the Daily Star Sunday reports.
City host neighbours Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium seven weeks from now, and with De Bruyne starting individual training, as exclusively revealed by City Watch on Friday after his leg brace came off, the 27-year-old’s recovery is going well.
Prior to City’s 3-0 thumping of Fulham on Saturday, Pep Guardiola himself confirmed that the Belgian is progressing nicely after suffering lateral knee ligament damage in training last month.
“(De Bruyne is) progressing well. He’s not fit for tomorrow but progressing well,” said Pep at his pre-Fulham press conference.
And the Daily Star Sunday believes 11 November, when Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United come to town, is becoming a realistic return date for De Bruyne.
Prior to his injury, De Bruyne had made just one appearance for the Blues this season, coming off the bench against Arsenal with half an hour to go. Following a marathon 2017/18 season that culminated with him featuring for Belgium at the World Cup, KDB should be well-rested and ready for go for the hectic festive period when he returns.
