Manchester City are firmly positioned in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain contract rebel Adrien Rabiot, respected PSG source Paris United reports.

This follows a report from RAC1 in August that Rabiot’s representatives were heading to Manchester for talks with City bosses in August.
Rabiot, 23, had a spell in the Manchester City academy back in 2008 before returning to France, and has since gone on to break into the PSG first team while also winning 6 caps for France.
And according to Paris United, backing up the previous report from Spain, City are one of four teams trying to convince Rabiot to join them on a free transfer next summer when his PSG deal runs out.
Along with City, Juventus, Barcelona and Premier League rivals Tottenham want to sign Rabiot, with the various clubs offering him an annual salary of €10million and signing-on fee of around €15million.
Though PSG retain hope of convincing the prodigious midfielder to sign fresh terms, Rabiot’s relationship with under-fire sporting director Antero Henrique has broken down, with the two not speaking.
The Parisien club’s last hope is that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi intervenes, with the club president having a similar influence to that of Khaldoon Al Mubarak at Manchester City. Should that prove fruitless, the French international will be heading elsewhere in 2019.
City are still looking for a new midfielder after Yaya Touré left and City failed to sign Pep Guardiola’s chosen one to replace him and ultimately succeed Fernandinho, Jorginho, who opted for Chelsea. Rabiot appears to be one of the leading candidates to reinforce the position with two solid sources now confirming City’s interest.
