Oleksandr Zinchenko has yet to score a goal for Manchester City but got off the mark for his national team, Ukraine, in their UEFA Nations League opener tonight.
Ukraine took on Czech Republic at the Městský fotbalový stadion Miroslava Valenty and went behind to an early goal from Roma’s Patrik Schick.
Schalke’s Yevhen Konoplyanka scored an equaliser on the stroke of half-time for Ukraine and then, with just seconds left on the clock in added time at the end, Zinchenko pounced on a goalkeeping mistake to give the visitors a big win.
Oleks, who could have joined Wolves or Real Betis in the summer transfer window, has yet to feature for Pep Guardiola’s City side this season, but will be eager to get some game time after scoring a last ditch winner for his country this evening.
