Neymar believes Manchester City will become the first team in a decade to retain the Premier League title, despite the early promise shown by rivals Liverpool and Chelsea.
The Brazilian superstar was quizzed by the Express about his thoughts on this season’s Premier League title race and chose City to lift the trophy, but doesn’t fancy Jurgen Klopp’s high-flying Liverpool to be there come the end of the campaign.
“Who will in it? Woah, that’s difficult,” Neymar said before deciding.
“It’s very hard, it’s very difficult, but Manchester City will win it.”
“Second will be United, third is Chelsea.
“Fourth is Tottenham,” he said after pausing.
The lack of Liverpool led to a follow-up question and he confirmed he hadn’t forgotten about the Kopites, saying: “no Liverpool”
As recently as May, the Paris Saint-Germain striker said he would love to work with City boss Pep Guardiola and he seems to be a fan of the Catalan’s double-winning team.
“I have always wanted to work with Guardiola. It’s different, I arrived a year after he left. I really want to work with him,” Neymar told ESPN Brasil earlier this year.
