Manchester City have officially signed Dutch youth international Jayden Braaf after the former PSV Eindhoven forward turned 16 today.
A deal was struck months ago for the highly-rated teenager, who quit PSV Eindhoven when his contract with the Eredivisie champions expired, but regulations meant he wasn’t allowed to join an English club until his 16th birthday.
Chelsea thought they had won the race for Braaf before Manchester City swayed him with their project and state-of-the-art City Football Academy, where he will now continue his development.
Braaf recently trained with NAC Breda, City’s Dutch partner club, but can now officially begin life as a Manchester City academy player with the hope that one day he will line up for the first team at the Etihad Stadium.
