Manchester City quartet John Stones, Kyle Walker, Fabian Delph and Raheem Sterling have been called up by Gareth Southgate for England’s upcoming internationals against Spain and Switzerland.
The big question among Blues is whether 18-year-old Phil Foden would receive his first call-up after reports that both he and former City academy player Jadon Sancho would be summoned for the next set of internationals.
However, while both are poised to feature in the coming months or years, Southgate has gone for a more tried and tested group of players for England’s next games in September.
