Manchester City have been paired with Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine), Lyon (France) and Hoffenheim (Germany) in Group F of the 2018-19 Champions League.
It’s a largely fresh group for the Premier League winners this season despite being drawn with Shakhtar for the second year running. Trips to France and Germany to face Lyon and Hoffenheim respectively offer new experiences for City and the travelling fans.
And City fans can’t complain about the tougher draw this season, particularly after seeing who Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham drew in comparison.
City’s presence in Pot 1 for the first time helped them into a group that they should qualify from, despite some tricky encounters.
