With the tenth anniversary of Manchester City’s takeover by Sheikh Mansour days away, a poll has been conducted to ask who the best City player of the last decade has been.
The Press Association asked 741 members of the Manchester City Supporters Club and the winner was quite clear, with David Silva named the best of the last ten years by quite some distance.
El Mago received 53 per cent of the vote, with iconic striker Sergio Aguero in second with 24.3%, and then club captain Vincent Kompany with 9.6%.
Yaya Touré ranked fourth with 4.7%, perhaps much less of the vote than he might have received before his explosive interview after being given a big farewell, and rounding out the top five was a more recent buy, Kevin De Bruyne, on 3.9%.
Pablo Zabaleta, Carlos Tevez, Fernandinho, Mario Balotelli, Edin Dzeko, Joe Hart, Nigel de Jong, Raheem Sterling and Ederson also received votes.
The top five in full:
1. David Silva (53%)
2. Sergio Aguero (24.3%)
3. Vincent Kompany (9.6%)
4. Yaya Touré (4.7%)
5. Kevin De Bruyne (3.9%)
