Riyad Mahrez has been speaking about life at Manchester City following his club-record £60million move from Leicester in the summer.
The Algerian international is still settling into life at the Etihad Stadium and while there have been flashes of his ability, the best will certainly come after he is fully integrated into Pep Guardiola’s side.
In an interview with French outlet RMC Sport, Mahrez spoke about how easy it had been to adapt to his new club. Those who have been watching ‘All or Nothing: Manchester City’ will have seen the positive atmosphere in the dressing room, something Mahrez acknowledged.
“I have adapted well and been helped a lot. It’s very easy to adapt because they [the players] are all very welcoming and kind, there are no guys with big heads – they are all good people,” said Mahrez.
Many clubs were linked with the 27-year-old, from Chelsea to Barcelona, but as soon as Pep Guardiola targetted him in January, his mind was made up.
“It’s the club I needed. I did not want to join any club other than Manchester City.”
