The curious purge of Manchester City players from South American international sides continues, with Sergio Aguero and Nicolas Otamendi excluded from the Argentina squad to face Guatemala and Colombia in September.
It isn’t just Aguero and Otamendi who have been left out of a new-look squad selected by Lionel Scaloni, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria also nowhere to be found.

This follows news that Tite has left EVERY available Brazilian from Manchester City out of his squad, including Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho.
It means six of City’s first-teamers will get a rest in the September international break, even if the national team exclusions may come as a disappointment to them personally.
