Kevin De Bruyne flew from Manchester to Barcelona on Thursday morning to begin treatment on a knee injury sustained in training yesterday, City Watch understands.
The 27-year-old was seriously injured in training yesterday as City Watch was first to reveal, and is expected to be out for a number of months.
Estimates so far have ranged from two to four months on the shelf for KDB, but until he has been fully checked, an accurate timeframe is difficult.
De Bruyne had a scan yesterday in Manchester and has travelled to Barcelona for further scans and examinations.
The Belgian midfielder will be treated by Pep Guardiola’s favourite doctor, the world famous Ramon Cugat, while in Barcelona, a man who has a history of getting footballers back to peak condition as fast as possible.
If his treatment doesn’t prevent it, De Bruyne will fly back to Manchester today to continue his rehab with Manchester City’s medical staff.
