Manchester City will loan out young winger Patrick Roberts to their Spanish sister club Girona FC, with the 21-year-old expected to arrive in Spain either today or tomorrow.
No firm offers arrived from the Premier League for Roberts in the English transfer window, despite talk that he could be involved in the Riyad Mahrez deal, and he will instead play in Spain’s top fight this season.
Roberts will join another City talent, Aleix Garcia, at Catalan club Girona and according to RAC1 the loan will last for the entire season.

The England youth international spent the last two-and-a-half seasons up north at Celtic, winning SEVEN trophies including three Scottish Premiership titles. He became a cult figure at Celtic and was linked with yet another spell in Glasgow, but that will not be happening.
Some City fans have been critical of Roberts for staying in his comfort zone for too long, but a move to La Liga is sure to be a greater challenge for Patrick.
This deal would appear to mean that Brahim Diaz, who Girona had been holding out for on loan, will not be returning to his homeland on loan. The 18-year-old, who is into the final 12 months of his contract, has been desperate to stay with Pep Guardiola’s squad.
