Manchester City have confirmed the £800,000 signing of Australian wonderkid Daniel Arzani from sister club Melbourne City.

The 19-year-old winger is expected to be immediately loaned out to Scottish champions Celtic for two seasons. City say they are “exploring a development pathway” for Arzani, although there is no official announcement yet of a move to Cletic.
Much is expected of Iran-born Arzani, who appeared three times as a substitute for the Socceroos at the World Cup, and is considered one of the country’s best talents since former Leeds and Liverpool star Harry Kewell.
City fended off significant rival interest to land the Aussie. Tottenham were one of the clubs to approach Arzani, but he turned down more lucrative offers from elsewhere, also snubbing concrete bids from Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims and 2.Bundesliga club Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Melbourne City wished Arzani well and he left this farewell message:
