Wolves are poised to complete the signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City on Thursday over a month after a £16million deal was agreed between the two clubs.
Zinchenko, 21, was due for talks with Nuno Espírito Santo’s big-spending Wolves today and it appears to have done the job, with Tim Spiers of the Express & Star this evening reporting that Oleks will head to Compton Park tomorrow morning to finalise his move.
The Ukraine international, who made 14 appearances in all competitions last season for the Blues, is scheduled to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms on a move that will make him Wolves’ second-most expensive signing of all time.
It will mean a huge profit for City, who bought Zinchenko for around £1.7million two years ago and are now set to receive £16million. As yet, it is unknown if there will be any sell-on or buy-back clauses included in the deal.
Despite playing a prominent role in City’s pre-season tour of the United States, Zinchenko was left out of this weekend’s squad for the Community Shield win over Chelsea, and it now appears that his future lies away from the Etihad Stadium.
