Joe Hart will take a pay cut from his £120,000-a-week Manchester City wages to join fellow Premier League side Burnley – but only after the Blues handed him a lucrative pay-off.
According to the Mirror, Hart’s switch to the Clarets has been faciliated by City giving him a ‘golden handshake’, paying him a sum to compensate for the pay-cut he will be taking when he completes his £4million move to Burnley.
City had been short on bids for the 31-year-old, but injuries to England goalkeepers Tom Heaton and Nick Pope have left Sean Dyche desperate for a goalkeeper and Hart will finally secure a permanent move away from the Etihad Stadium after two seasons worth of loan moves.
It is thought Hart has already undergone a medical, and he is set to complete the paperwork tomorrow that will finalise his move to Burnley, bringing to an end a 12-year stay at Manchester City.
