Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Australian wonderkid Daniel Arzani is finalising his move to Manchester City from sister club Melbourne City, after which he will join Celtic on loan.
Arzani, 19, arrived in the UK with his family yesterday and is now going through the formalities to make him a Manchester City player.
The Socceroo winger is expected to cost around £280,000 and the plan is for him to join Celtic on a two-season loan, with reports from Australia stating the Hoops will have an option to buy him at the end of that agreement.
Rodgers stopped short of saying the deal is done, but said he is hopeful that everything can be sorted over the next few days.
“He is obviously finalising his deal with Manchester City and there are talks with ourselves in order for him to come in. It’s a possibility,” the Celtic manager said.
“He is an exciting young talent and we’ll see if we can get that organised over the next few days.
“It won’t be done for midweek. He has only just flown in and hasn’t trained.
“He was at the World Cup so it will be a number of weeks before he is up to speed.”
