Joe Hart is en route to Turf Moor for a Burnley medical ahead of a permanent £4million move from Manchester City, The Sun reports.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche has turned to the England international with both of his goalkeepers, Nick Pope and Tom Heaton, injured.
And it is reported that Hart is currently on his way to undergo a medical with the transfer to be announced as early as tonight.
For City, it will mean getting a fee close to their £5million asking price for the fan favourite, and 31-year-old Hart securing the permanent move away from the Etihad he has been desperately seeking.
Hart made two second half appearances for City on their pre-season tour of the United States and Pep Guardiola praised the two-time Premier League winner for his good attitude.
However, Joe is not in Pep’s plans with Ederson firmly established as the number one choice and Claudio Bravo a suitable back-up option who utilises a style Guardiola prefers from his goalkeepers.
To try and help Hart relaunch his career with a permanent move, City have been asking only for a modest fee and it appears Burnley, in desperate need of some quality between the sticks, have won the race.
UPDATE: Further reports of Hart to Burnley being a goer.
Joe Hart having medical at Burnley this evening. Paperwork still to be done. Three-year deal and big paycut. Fee around £4m and City would be due money based on Burnley’s performance in EL and PL. All sides very happy if it comes off apparently.
