Hibernian boss Neil Lennon has confirmed that Manchester City’s Ghana international Thomas Agyepong is joining the Scottish club on loan, a story first reported by City Watch last month.
The deal has been held up by the wait for paperwork, but Lennon said the 21-year-old winger has already undergone a medical and compared him to previous Man City loanee Brandon Barker.
“We are just waiting on the paperwork as Thomas [Agyepong] has had his medical,” Lennon said. “He’ll be with us on a year’s loan.
“He’s very similar to Brandon [Barker], good with both feet, quick, good end product. He’s 21 years old, so he fits the profile.”
Lennon had some doubts about Agyepong’s fitness, with the winger’s time at NAC Breda interupted by injury problems, but having passed a medical, it is now just a matter of time before the speedy Ghanaian heads to Edinburgh for the third loan club of his City career.
