City Watch revealed exclusively in June that Muric had headed to Breda for pre-season, but he was soon called back to Manchester by City for their tour of the United States due to Ederson’s absence.
With the Brazilian now back from his post-World Cup holiday, City have sanctioned Muric’s move to their Dutch partner club.
The number 1 shirt was vacated at NAC when Nigel Bertrams was sold to Denmark’s FC Nordsjælland and Muric is expected to be favoured ahead of Australian goalkeeper Mark Birighitti as the club’s first-choice shot-stopper this coming season.
NAC technical director Hans Smulders said of the new signing: “For us, attracting a new keeper, especially after Nigel’s departure, was a priority. Aro is a talented and physically strong keeper, who despite his young age is ready for a challenge at the highest level.”
Aro, who arrived in Breda from Brussels yesterday, is happy with the move.
“It feels good to be able to play in Breda next season,” he said. “I hope I can help the team and we have a good season together. I can’t wait to show people here what I can do.”
