Manchester City impressed in most areas of the pitch against Bayern Munich in the first half of their friendly, but the Germans were clinical and took their chances, while City wasted their own early on with Lukas Nmecha hitting the post.
Goals from Meritan Shabani and Arjen Robben were only the start of City’s sudden woes because club-record signing Riyad Mahrez soon went down with an ankle problem and had to be forced off.
Mahrez’s replacement, Bernardo Silva, struck just before half-time though, to put a teen-heavy City side back in the game. It was a sweet finish aided by a good diversionary run from the speedy Luke Bolton.
