Sergio Aguero to return to Manchester City training as he eyes 200th goal for Blues

Manchester City will be boosted by the return of many established stars this coming week ahead of the Community Shield clash with Chelsea, and one of them will be the iconic Sergio Aguero.

Aguero is set to join up with City’s pre-season on Monday according to Lucas Scagliola, a man well-informed on all things Kun.

Others will also return tomorrow and in the days that follow, with the main hope being that most will be ready to face Arsenal when the Premier League season kicks off. Before then is a trip to Wembley for the Community Shield, but it remains to be seen how many of the returning faces will be match-ready.

For Aguero, the new season presents a chance for him to belatedly hit 200 goals for Manchester City after an injury late in the season meant he finished it on 199.

The 30-year-old is already City’s all-time leading goal scorer and moving beyond 200 goals will further cement his legacy as one of the Blues’ greatest ever players.

Aguero is planning to return to Independiente in 2020, which means both he and David Silva, who is also expected to leave the club when his contract runs out that summer, could depart the Etihad Stadium at the same time after years of fantastic service.
