Manchester City’s new young midfielder Claudio Gomes is the subject of much curiosity among Blues at the moment after Pep Guardiola spoke glowingly of the Frenchman.
Gomes, who turned 18 today, agreed to join City from Paris Saint-Germain halfway through the last campaign but had to wait for his contract to expire, then for him to turn 18, as per FIFA rules.
It can be presumed that the French youth international is now officially a Manchester City player, although it remains to be seen if the club will announce him given their habit of not giving too much press to signings in that age group.
The player was pictured in training today and if he is now officially a City player, could be eligible to play against Liverpool and Bayern Munich in the upcoming friendlies.

“He has been so good, so good,” Guardiola said of Gomes last week. “My opinion is that at that age you have to play. You need minutes, if not with us then with the second team.
“It could be like what happened with Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz – he could stay with us, because from what we have seen in these days, the impression is good, so good.”
