Hull City are working on a deal to sign highly-rated young winger Brandon Barker from Manchester City, Alan Nixon of The Sun reports, interest that City Watch revealed on Saturday.
Barker, 21, impressed while on loan at Scottish Premiership side Hibernian last season and that has led to a host of clubs expressing interest in the player.
Hibs wanted Barker back, but with so much rival interest have resigned themselves to missing out on the former England under-20 international and are instead in talks for another City winger, Thomas Agyepong.
Hull hope to sign Barker, who has not been able to break through to Manchester City’s first team, but while the Tigers are in pole position for Brandon there is competition and no deal has been done yet.
Barker made 27 appearances in the Scottish top-flight for Hibernian last season, scoring twice. He has previously spent time on loan at Rotherham United and NAC Breda.
