Official: Manchester City loan out USA midfielder to South Korean side Ulsan Hyundai

Manchester City have loaned out midfielder Mix Diskerud for the second time since signing him on a free transfer in January, with the American international joining South Korean side Ulsan Hyundai.

The K League club have signed Mix, 27, on a one-year loan deal and this marks the first time City have ever done business with a South Korean club. The two clubs have been in talks since June and while a permanent switch was mooted, City have decided to loan the Norway-born player out again.

Former New York City FC man Mix joined City in January without an announcement from the club, with his sponsor Umbro instead revealing that he had signed a 4 ½ year contract.

He was then returned to Swedish side IFK Göteborg on loan, where he performed well, and has now made the interesting decision to play his club football in South Korea.

“I heard that the K League is the best football league in Asia,” Diskerud said upon being revealed by Ulsan. “I have big expectations playing with Ulsan.”
