Joe Hart expects to be named in Manchester City’s travelling party tomorrow when Pep Guardiola’s men head to Chicago for their pre-season tour of the United States, the Daily Mail reports.
The former England goalkeeper has been exiled in the two seasons since Guardiola arrived at the Etihad due to his incompatibility with the Catalan’s requests of a goalkeeper, but with no buyer emerging yet for the 31-year-old, he is expecting to fly to the USA.
Hart has been sent to Torino and West Ham in the past two seasons and the fan favourite, once considered one of Europe’s finest goalkeepers, has seen his stock fall sharply after indifferent performances in Turin and London.
With Ederson on holiday after the World Cup and Aro Muric expected to join NAC Breda on loan, the Blues are short on shot-stoppers, with Claudio Bravo and Daniel Grimshaw the only definites to head to the States.
Hart’s expected involvement in the pre-season tour isn’t likely to earn him a reprieve from Guardiola, with the expectation still being he will leave, but could give Manchester City fans one last glimpse of Joe in the shirt before he moves on.
Joe is hoping for a permanent move away after two loan switches away, but may have to compromise on his £100,000-plus a week salary, and the feeling is that a move abroad could be his best option.
