17-year-old La Masia sensation confirms transfer from Barcelona to Manchester City

Exciting Spanish youngster Adrià Bernabé is officially a Manchester City player after quitting Barcelona and following the well-worn path to the Premier League.

The 17-year-old made his decision in April to join the eventual Premier League champions, where he will link up with another ex-La Masia talent, Eric Garcia, who was named U-18s Players’ Player of the Year last season.

And after posting an emotional farewell message in June, Bernabé has now updated his Instagram with a photo of him in a Man City shirt and new wording in his profile that confirms his new club.

A gifted attacking midfielder, Bernabé has been one of the most highly thought of players in Barcelona’s esteemed academy and losing him to Man City will come as a major blow. The Catalan club signed him from neighbours Espanyol several years ago and had hoped that he could break through to the first team.
