Patrick Roberts is leaving Manchester City to join Leicester City in a deal worth around £10million, the Mirror reports.
Roberts, 21, has been suggested as a makeweight in City’s bid for Riyad Mahrez after Leicester requested him in January before talks collapsed.
The England under-21 international is now reportedly heading to the King Power Stadium, and while it will be a separate deal to Mahrez, it is expected to smooth the Algerian’s protracted move to the Etihad Stadium.
Roberts, signed from Fulham in 2015, has spent the last 18 months north of the border with Celtic, winning the Scottish Premiership three times during his stay in Glasgow.
Should the move go ahead as reported, City’s drawn-out pursuit of Mahrez should come to an end, with the winger poised to become the club’s record signing at £60million.
