Manchester City are poised to fend off interest from the likes of Juventus to sign Australia sensation Daniel Arzani from partner club Melbourne City, according to SBS.
If the move does go ahead, the Premier League champions are expected to pay a fee in the region of $500,000 (£280,000), with Arzani then poised to join Dutch partner club NAC Breda or possibly Belgian side Club Brugge on loan.
Melbourne City coach Warren Joyce would also like Arzani back for the year, meaning an instant return to Australia could be another option for the talented teen.
City’s strategy for Arzani will be similar to the one used with another import from Melbourne City, Aaron Mooy, who was sold to Huddersfield in a deal worth up to £10million after a successful year on loan.
Much is expected of Iran-born Arzani, who appeared three times as a substitute for the Socceroos at the World Cup, and is considered one of the country’s best talents since former Leeds and Liverpool star Harry Kewell.
