Nigerian midfielder Chidiebere Nwakali is ready to call time on his Manchester City stay after being sent out on loan five times since officially joining in 2015.
Nwakali was a member of Nigeria’s 2013 U-17 World Cup winning team and was signed along with Kelechi Iheanacho, a name which needs no introduction.
Unlike Iheanacho, now of Leicester, Nwakali is an unknown to most City fans and has been sent on loan to Atlético Malagueño, Girona FC, Start, Sogndal and most recently Aberdeen.
With just one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, AllNigeriaSoccer reports that Nwakali is ready to leave unless he can obtain a work permit – which is very unlikely given that he is uncapped at senior level by Nigeria.
Rather than be dispatched for a sixth loan move, Nwakali therefore would like Man City to sell him on a permanent deal.
“Chidi still has one year remaining on his contract with Manchester City,” AllNigeriaSoccer quotes a ‘top source’ as saying.
“But he is insisting to leave as he doesn’t want to embark on another loan.”
