Manchester City appear poised to announce the signing of Jorginho from Napoli after grueling negotiations, with his replacement to undergo a medical today.
The Serie A club struck a deal for Real Betis midfielder Fabian Ruiz in June and he was filmed arriving in Naples, but Napoli’s stance was always to wait until the Jorginho sale was agreed before formally signing his replacement.
And 22-year-old Ruiz is today undertaking his Napoli medical, according to Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano of Sky Italia – which is the clearest sign yet that Jorginho has been sold to City, pending an official announcement.

The 26-year-old was left out of Napoli’s pre-season training squad yesterday and reports followed later that day that City and Napoli had finally reached a total agreement with ‘white smoke’ (an Italian expression for ‘done deal’) appearing.
