Highly-rated England under-17 international Bobby Duncan has confirmed that he is leaving Manchester City this summer.
Posting on his Instagram account, the 17-year-old cousin of Liverpool great Steven Gerrard thanked everyone at City for helping with his career and described his decision to leave as ‘difficult’.
It’s Been an Amazing 6 Years at Manchester City ….. It Was a Difficult Decision For Me And My Family But The Time is Right For a New Challenge And to Fulfil My Dreams And Potential Elsewhere…… I Want to Thank Everyone at Manchester City . The Coaches,Staff,Players Who Have Contributed Into My Development Throughout My Time at The Club. I Move on With Many Special Memories…. Thank You !!!! 💙 #MCFC
Duncan was involved in a contract dispute with City which led to him playing no club football in the past year, but continuing to represent the Three Lions at youth level.
In April, it was reported that the striker would be joining Liverpool to link up with his cousin Gerrard, who was then in charge of the under-18 side.
Gerrard has since moved on to Rangers, so it remains to be seen if Bobby is still Anfield-bound or has another destination in mind.
