Manchester City continue to be linked with highly-rated São Paulo defender Éder Militão, who was first said to be of interest to Pep Guardiola back in April.
Since then, the versatile youngster has been associated with a host of clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Lazio, and now it is Inter’s turn.
According to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, the Nerazzurri have been exploring the possibility of signing 20-year-old Éder in recent days, but have learned that they will face strong competition from Man City.
The Italian club are bulking up their squad after achieving Champions League qualification, with moves for Malcom of Bordeaux and Tottenham’s Mousa Dembélé in the works, but Éder, a former Brazil youth international, is also on their radar.
The prospect is capable of playing at right-back, centre-back and in a holding midfielder role, and with Guardiola known to like versatile players it is easy to see why Éder’s profile may appeal to to the Catalan.
Éder is out of contract at São Paulo in January, which part explains why there is such interest in him. For City, it could prove to be a bargain buy should they sign him ahead of Inter, PSG and other suitors.
