Besides an official announcement, Jorginho can in almost all respects now be considered a Manchester City player, today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport in Italy reports.
With widespread reports of a €49million (£43million) deal being agreed between City and Napoli, the question has been when will we see the 26-year-old in a Citizens shirt?
According to Corriere dello Sport, the player, who as of yesterday was still in Brazil with his family on holiday, will first pass by Naples to say goodbye to his friends in the area, before travelling to Manchester.
We may have to wait until early July for an official announcement, with the Italian report believing the start of the month is when Jorginho will be officially announced as a City player – perhaps allowing him time to finish his holiday and return to Naples first.
Once in Manchester, the Italy midfielder will undergo a medical before signing a five-year contract worth €4.5million (£3.4million) per year plus bonuses.
The feeling from Italy is that there are no more hurdles to pass and that everything is relaxed, because Jorginho is for all intents and purposes now a Manchester City player.
