Nice boss Patrick Vieira looks to Manchester City for Alassane Pléa replacement – report

Patrick Vieira is eyeing a reunion with former Manchester City U21 protégé Thierry Ambrose at OGC Nice, Onze Mondial reports.

Nice are the second Ligue 1 club Ambrose has been linked with after French newspaper L’Equipe revealed Bordeaux’s interest. Belgian giants Anderlecht are also said to be keen.

The prospect of reuniting with new Nice boss Vieira could appeal to the talented young forward though, with the French club considering Thierry as a replacement for the outgoing Alassane Pléa.

Ambrose wore the captain’s armband for City’s Elite Development Squad when Vieira was in charge and a move to the French Riviera seems like a logical next step for him.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at NAC Breda, scoring 10 goals and contributing 4 assists. His Manchester City deal runs until 2020 and with a breakthrough to Pep Guardiola’s first-team appearing difficult, he may be the latest highly-rated talent to move on after Pablo Maffeo and Angeliño.
