Manchester City defender Jason Denayer is attracting interest across Europe and could be on the move this summer, Het Laatste Nieuws reports from his homeland of Belgium.
The 22-year-old has just completed a title-winning season on loan at Galatasaray, his second spell at the Turkish giants, and after rumours linking him with Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan another group of clubs have popped up as interested parties.
In addition to Galatasaray, who hope to sign him permanently, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Girona, Lyon and Marseille would like to recruit the versatile defender, who is currently vacationing in Tokyo and whose iPhone ‘is not standing still’ according to HLN.
Denayer would be happy to make Galatasaray his permanent home after two enjoyable loan spells at the Türk Telekom Stadium, but with interest from Germany, France and Spain he has other options to consider. AS Roma have also shown interest but not followed up on it.
Manchester City do not want to stand in Denayer’s way and are working on a sale, promising not to be difficult on the asking price. They had set a €10million (£8.8million) on the Belgian, with one condition – a buy-back clause be included in the deal, allowing them to re-sign him in future.
For the Blues, Girona would be a preferred option to sell Denayer to, given that he clubs work together as City Football Group affiliates. For Denayer, Galatasaray may well be his preferred option, but he will think about it while enjoying the sights of Japan.
