Manchester City are almost out of patience with Napoli who continue to stall and shift the goal posts on a deal for midfielder Jorginho, Pep Guardiola’s number one pick to reinforce the midfield this summer.
Despite his desire to recruit the 26-year-old, who has the ideal profile for this City side, Guardiola and the club are taking a tougher stance in the transfer market than in past years and stand by their valuations of targets.
And according to information from Sky Italia on Friday afternoon, the Blues have issued an ultimatum to Napoli and given them four days to either sell Jorginho or don’t.
The Italian network continues to insist that City offered over €50million two days ago, something City deny, with their claims stating that they have not gone above their original offer of €45million.
Either way, City are refusing to improve on their current offer for the Italy international and it is reported by Sky Italia that an alternative is already on hand in the event no deal is struck.
There are murmurings that City are beginning to move for Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovačić, who is said to have a very reasonable release clause of €50million (£43.8million), making a deal easy to close if the Croatian is open to a move.
