PSV Eindhoven continued negotiations with Manchester City on Wednesday for young left-back Angeliño, who is ready to continue his career in the Eredivisie after a successful year on loan at NAC Breda.
Despite a slowdown in talks of late, the two sides are now said not to be far apart from an agreement, with his agent hopeful that the transfer will happen soon, according to Eindhovens Dagblad.
Angeliño, 21, is currently on holiday and letting his agent deal with the Dutch champions, who have been wanting to pay €5million for him. City believe that is low, so clauses are likely to be included that will ensure the Premier League champions can make more profit in future.
A story from earlier today by The Sun claiming that Marcel Brands, the sporting director who has left PSV for Everton, wanted to take Angeliño to Goodison Park have been firmly denied by the left-back’s management.
PSV is currently the first option for Angeliño and further talks are planned for Thursday, with the expectation that a deal can be struck soon.
