Manchester City and Napoli are still yet to agree a fee for Brazilian-born Italy midfielder Jorginho, but the player and his family are already making plans for a move.
City have offered €45million with a further €5million in bonuses, while Napoli continue to demand €60million. It is thought if City can meet Napoli halfway there, they will receive a ‘yes’.
And in anticipation of that, Jorginho’s wife has already identified three potential homes in Manchester, Naples-based Il Mattino reported on Tuesday. While her husband was on national team duty with Italy, she also began packing for a move to Manchester.
The two plan to fly to Manchester now and have a look at the houses, while Jorginho’s mother, who he is very close to, will also play a role in picking the best home for the family.
Jorginho has a full personal agreement with Manchester City and will earn €4.2million a season excluding bonuses if the two parties can agree a fee.
Deciding he wanted to join Pep Guardiola’s side was not an easy decision though, Il Mattino reveals.
The 26-year-old has been living in Naples since the start of 2014 and with his son having been born in the area, he was quite happy to remain and initially planned to reject Man City’s offer.
Then Jorginho’s mentor, Maurizio Sarri, left the club and he made a decision – to join the Premier League champions.
Now we await a conclusion between Manchester City and Napoli, with the player and his family making preparations for a new life in the north of England…
