Yaya Touré has caused a storm after implying that Pep Guardiola is racist and has issues with African players of a certain colour in an explosive interview with France Football.
After a perfect send-off, the Ivorian midfielder has risked his reputation among City fans by going after Pep Guardiola, with his logic appearing quite shaky.
We ran a poll on Twitter asking if Yaya’s comments, which have been added to by his notorious agent Dimitri Seluk today, have negatively impacted his reputation.
It’s safe to say, most believe it has done.
💬 Have the recent comments from Yaya Touré impacted your view of him and his City legacy?

Here are some of the responses from Blues on Twitter.
Yes. But I knew it was coming. He doesn’t love the club, like Sergio, David and Kun do.

What puzzles me is that he’s been smiling and laughing and exchanging handshakes and hugs with Pep and only now he comes out calling him a racist? Why didn’t he call him out while he was at City? Weak character of a man if you ask me.😏👎🏾

At this point, I just feel sorry for Yaya. He is clearly mentally unstable.

Yes, but I also always thought he had a troubled legacy. The season after he scored 20 odd goals, he and his agent showed their true colours

What he did for us on the pitch will never change, but that he can spew hate the way he has towards the club and fans that just about worshiped him at one point, speaks of his character and self much more. A true legend doesn't speak this way. A true legend doesn't feel this way.

I will be in a minority I'm certain, but his legacy was impacted on every year he had a gun to our heads for a more money, and further still by his diminishing will to run towards our goal. He'll remain a legend for some, but nothing in comparison to how much he's loved himself

Yaya has ruined the fun out of the great winning season of Manchester City. He's like the one who ruins the great party for no reason. Unlike him, Pep won't disparage him in public.

While the majority seem to believe Yaya is in the wrong here, not everyone believes it will damage his reputation in the long run.
not really, and neither should it for any City fan, I don't think he's slated the club here, it's a long running issue he's had with Pep since his time at Barca. Absolutely disgraceful comments but again, nothing to do with the club or his time at City. He's always been like that

No, this is a matter of personal feud between club personell; us fans are best staying out of it. Yaya has done great things for our club and nothing should erase that.

No, I already knew he was like this as a person. It’s hard to do but I try to separate the player from the man
