Sky Italia journalist: Jorginho to Manchester City could be done after Italy vs. Holland if…

Manchester City could move closer to deal for Napoli midfielder Jorginho after tonight’s Italy vs. Holland international friendly, transfer market expert Alessandro Sugoni of Sky Italia has said.

The 26-year-old is in Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad and is focusing on that while City and Napoli try to thrash out a deal that would see him move to the Etihad Stadium.

So far, Txiki Begiristain has been unable to agree a fee with his Napoli counterpart Cristiano Giuntoli, who is under the orders of club president Aurelio De Laurentiis not to sell the pass-master cheaply.

However, having seen an offer of €45million + €5million in bonuses rejected – as confirmed by De Laurentiis himself – Sugoni believes if they scrap the bonuses and make it all-in-one, the deal could be done.

“Jorginho? I expect that after Italy vs. Holland, we could see a conclusion in the deal between Manchester City and Napoli,” Sugoni said on Sky Italia. “Maybe €50million guaranteed with no bonuses.”

It has been suggested that Napoli want €60million for Jorginho, while a claim today said Napoli have rejected Oleksandr Zinchenko as part of a deal worth €50million.

With previous target Fred in Manchester today to sign for neighbours Manchester United, City will hope for a quick breakthrough in talks over Jorginho. Carlo Ancelotti has sanctioned the player’s sale and Napoli are looking at replacements, so City will be optimistic of reaching a compromise with the hardline Italian negotiators.
