Notts County have announced a deal to sign young Manchester City midfielder Will Patching when his contract ends on 1 July.
The 19-year-old will officially pen a two-year deal with the League Two side on 1 July and it will be his first foray into the senior game after spending his youth in City’s academy.
“I’ve never had an experience like this before,” Patching said. “I’m looking forward to it.
“I love having the ball at my feet and I can chip in with assists and like scoring goals, but I can play in a deeper holding position as well.
“I enjoy set pieces, too. I do a lot of work on them so hopefully I can score a few here.”
Founded in 1862, Notts County are the oldest professional association football club in the world and Patching will begin his career away from the Etihad at the historic Meadow Lane.
