Manchester City wing wizard Leroy Sané has shockingly been left out of Germany’s 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup by Joachim Löw.
The PFA Young Player of the Year, who found the net 10 times and contributed 15 assists in City’s rampant Premier League campaign, is the surprise absentee on the list, with young Julian Brandt preferred.
Leroy’s City teammate İlkay Gündoğan has made the cut.
Sané’s absence is bad news for the 22-year-old, although it will mean he can join up with Pep Guardiola’s pre-season crew earlier than expected, and will be involved in the summer tour to the USA.
