Manchester City are among a host of prominent European clubs showing interest in Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele after his impressive season in Ligue 1.
The 21-year-old has been on loan from Amiens, but Lyon have an €8million option to buy which they will use, with the player’s value having skyrocketed over the past year.
According to Paris United, a reliable source for French transfer news, City along with Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Liverpool and Roma are showing interest in Ndombele.
Two other clubs, Tottenham and Juventus, have already opened talks with Lyon about signing the French under-21 international, with Manchester United also set to ‘take action’.

City’s interest in Ndombele was first revealed by Goal journalist Sam Lee on the City Watch Podcast in mid-March, with Sam telling us that Blues scouts had been monitoring him.
An athletic and technically gifted defensive midfielder, Ndombele has the ideal profile to replace 33-year-old Brazilian ace Fernandinho when his City spell comes to an end.
Napoli’s Jorginho is the main target to reinforce the midfield this summer and replace the outgoing Yaya Touré, but if City’s interest in Ndombele is solid, they may have no choice but to move for him now or watch him join neighbours Manchester United, Tottenham or another of the interested clubs.
