After a day of much activity on Wednesday which saw Napoli pass-master Jorginho seemingly edge closer to Manchester City, things went quiet yesterday and have been since.
It is thought that the two clubs are negotiating a fee, after Sky Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio revealed City want to pay a little over €45million (€46million or €47million) with Napoli asking for more than €50million.
There has been a flicker of activity today with Naples-based journalist Ciro Venerato revealing that the 26-year-old is closer than ever to the Napoli exit door.
“The Italian-Brazilian (Jorginho) will 101% (leave Napoli),” Venerato said to the microphones of Radio CRC.
Napoli are already in negotiations with potential candidates to replace Jorginho and it now appears a matter of time, with City hopeful of having both he and Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez signed up when they return from international duty next week.
